PRMC’s Surgical Services department consists of the patient care units Ambulatory Services, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Surgery, and Endoscopy.
Surgery
Pratt Regional Medical Center’s Surgery department consists of five operating room suites. Patients are cared for by highly-trained surgeons, registered nurses, surgical scrub technologist, and certified registered nurse anesthetist. PRMC has the most up-to-date laparoscopic/arthroscopic video equipment.

Ambulatory Services
PRMC’s Ambulatory Services department is the pre/post-surgery area. Patients arrive in the area the morning of their procedure/surgery to prepare and are cared for by highly-experienced registered nurses. In this area, patients visit with their surgeon or advance practice provider prior to surgery. Patients sign the procedure/surgery consent and will be provided education regarding what to expect for the day.
Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
PRMC’s Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is the room patients are taken to once the procedure/surgery is completed. Patients are closely monitored by the highly-skilled PACU nurse and the certified registered nurse Anesthetist. The length of time in teh PACU will depend on the type of anesthesia and the procedure/surgery. No visitors are allowed in the PACU.
Endoscopy
PRMC’s Endoscopy Department consists of two endoscopy procedure suites. Endoscopy procedures are offered Thuesday through Thursday. The Endoscopy Department is staff with a highly-trained gastroenterologist, general surgeons, registered nurses and an endoscopy tech.
An endoscopy procedure allows a doctor to observe the inside of the body without performing major surgery. An endoscopy is a log, flexible tube with a lens at one end and a video camera at the other. This allows the physician to visualize inside your gastrointestinal tract and take pictures if needed. The end with the lens is inserted into the patient.
