All PRMC Employees,
After careful consideration, our billing department employees were told this morning their jobs are being eliminated after October 1, 2024. Although this decision was difficult, we feel this is the best option for the future success of PRMC. The insurance industry has become increasingly difficult to navigate and proposes many future challenges.
These layoffs are specific to the billing department. There are no plans for additional layoffs within the organization. We have heard the concerns of the community and patients, and we realize there is a need for improvement in our billing processes. This decision should allow us to focus more on what we do best, which is providing our patients with excellent and compassionate healthcare.
We are attempting to assist affected billing department employees in this transition as best we can. Currently, seven employees are affected. Of the seven employees, one had already resigned and will be leaving their position this Friday. Billing department employees are encouraged to and can:
-
- Apply for one of three newly posted billing related positions within PRMC or apply for any of our other open positions.
- Apply for a (remote -work from home) position with Code Quick, the Revenue Cycle Management company who will take over billing processes for PRMC. Employees who choose to apply for a position with Code Quick will be provided with a specific link to separate their applications for a prioritized review.
- If an affected employee would like to apply for a position outside of the organization, we are happy to provide an employment reference.
- Unemployment is also an option for those who qualify and wish to pursue this.
Going forward, Code Quick will be contracted to perform the full business office functions. This change is the result of PRMC expanding partnership with Code Quick. Currently, Code Quick partners with PRMC to cover gaps in coding. We recognize our billing processes are less than desirable and do not reflect our mission to provide our patients and community with excellent and compassionate care. This is a step in the right direction to help resolve some of the problems we have been challenged with. We feel a long lasting partnership with a professional billing company will provide us the ability to proactively engage the unforeseeable challenges that healthcare brings.
The decision to shift to Code Quick is rooted in our commitment to the long-term success of our hospital. This partnership represent a significant step forward in modernizing our systems and practices. Code Quick, who was recently named one of the top 100 fastest growing healthcare companies, brings advanced technology and innovative solutions that will help us streamline our billing processes, improve accuracy, and ultimately enhance the experience for both patients and staff.
Please rest assured we are working closely with Code Quick to ensure a smooth transition, and we will be providing more details in the coming weeks about how this change will impact our daily operations. We are confident that this partnership will bring positive improvements, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time of transition.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, your manager or the administrative team. Thank you for your dedication and continued commitment to success.
Sincerely,
Tammy Smith
