PRMC Board Chair, Bill Keller, Receives Trustee of the Year Award

PRMC is proud to announce PRMC Board Chairman, Bill Keller received the Kansas Hospital Association Trustee of the Year Award during last week’s KHA Annual Convention in Kansas City.

Bill has been a member of the PRMC Board of Directors since 2003, and became the Board Chairman in 2012. He is President and CEO of Stanion Wholesale Electric Co., a successful multi-million dollar electrical supply company with approximately 240 employees, headquartered in Pratt. With 16 branches in Kansas, Stanion Wholesale Electric Co. covers Kansas plus parts of Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and Nebraska and does business overseas.

“Bill is highly respected by the board, the community and his business peers,” PRMC board member Jeanette Siemens said. “Bill provides leadership in the community including the Chamber, Pratt Health Foundation, and Leadership program. He governs in a quiet, confident manner, guiding when necessary, commanding respect from those with whom he works.”

“I've known Bill for 25 years and observed as he assumed various leadership roles in our church and community,” board member Becca Flowers said. “I've always been aware of the high level of respect he has earned from a wide spectrum of people (peers, church congregation, customers, employees, etc.). After serving on the hospital board with him, I can see how his day to day interaction naturally builds that trust and respect. The board has discussed some very challenging issues, and Bill approaches those conversations in an authentic manner with objective information. He creates a culture in our meetings where other members of the board stay calm, work to see the big picture and assumes good intentions of each other and other parties involved.”

Bill was a board representative to the community committee that led and successfully completed educational presentations to the county showing the need for major renovation and replacement of key parts of our hospital,” board member Frank Laubhan said. “Today, the $30 million renovation is about half complete. This will allow Pratt County to continue to be a leader in medical facilities and medical care in south central Kansas.”

“My final thoughts concerning Bill are the moral character that Bill exemplifies in his daily life,” Board member Don Peters said. “He is a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and Christian. He is a great humanitarian and lives his life in a way that makes you proud to count him as a friend.”

“In my 21 years of serving as PRMC’s President and CEO, I have had the fortune of working with just three board chairs,” Susan Page said. “As hopefully you can see through this nomination, our community and hospital has been blessed with Bill’s leadership. Bill is so deserving of KHA’s Trustee of the Year award!”

The Trustee of the Year Award recognizes and honors a hospital board member who is a leader, gives back to the community and routinely goes beyond the call of duty. KHA members are encouraged to recognize those trustees who have served with distinction and made significant contributions to the betterment of their hospital and community.  The Trustee of the Year Award was established by the Kansas Hospital Association Board in 2013. The award recognizes hospital trustees who provide an exemplary contribution through their leadership and governance.
